Maksymilian Dymitr Czornyj (born in 1989) – Student of Law at the UMCS (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University). Published several poems in the press, has been doing prose for several years; he is one of the most promising prose debuts of the “Akcent” magazine (2007/2). His stories have been translated to Ukrainian, among other languages. Received the People’s Choice Award at the “Studnia” online prose competition.

„Akcent” – literary-artistic quarterly magazine, published since 1980 in Lublin. The main topic of the magazine are culture processes which take place on the border between cultures and nationalities. It published the first translations of “The painted Bird” by Kosiński, “Satanic Verses” by Rushdie, and Singer’s stories. It also published works of the “singing poets” – Młynarski, Brassens, Brel, Okudzhava, Wysocki. In 2010 the magazine celebrated the 30th anniversary of its existance.”
