I World War. After explosion of a heavy missile two officers of Russian army (lieutenant and captain) have been buried in underground of Fort XIII “Sans Rideau” in Przemyśl. Through water from the well and giant food supplies, they manage to survive. The lieutenant finds inner consolation in a diary he writes, in thoughts and in prayer; in turn the captain gradually falls into alcoholism and insanity. Both of them, buried alive, go on in endless expectation for help.
