Two married artists – a filmmaker and an actress, after long absence return to a village house. This homecoming after many years leads to memories and personal summaries. The time spent far from hubbub of civilization passes slowly. Marynia has to leave, meanwhile Andrzej spends more and more time shooting photographs of a young and alluring Matylda. The Spindle of time is a second after Four Seasons part of Andrzej Kondratiuk’s film diary. As in Four seasons and Sundial the traditional fable has been substituted by poetic and at the same time ironical story about creating a film. The director expresses his philosophy of life in symbiosis with nature and proposes a deeper thought about artistic and moral obsessions concerning love and transience.
